An optional add-on program for U7 and U8 Recreational players looking for extra training, more touches on the ball, and continued skill development in a fun, structured environment.

Program Overview

Designed for U7 and U8 players, the PVSC Skills Development Program provides additional training in a fun, structured environment. It's a great fit for players who are newer to soccer or want extra instruction to build confidence and strengthen their technical skills.

Led by our certified coaching staff, players participate in one additional weekly training session while continuing with their Recreational team. Sessions focus on technical development through engaging drills and small-sided games that build confidence and game understanding.

Players must be enrolled in the PVSC Recreational Program to participate.

Is Skills Development right for your player?

Training Curriculum

Our Skills Development sessions focus on building strong technical fundamentals through engaging, age-appropriate instruction

Players will focus on:

  • Ball control and first touch

  • Dribbling and ball mastery

  • Passing and receiving

  • Moving the ball up the field 

  • Shooting and finishing

  • Small-sided games that encourage decision-making, creativity, and increased touches on the ball

Each one-hour session is designed to help players become more confident and capable on the filed while continuing to develop a love for the game​

Practice Schedule

  • Attend all scheduled Recreational team practices and games

  • One additional Skills Development practice each Thursday evening

  • Skills Development training begins two weeks after the recreational season starts and will run for 6 weeks

What To Bring

  • Soccer Ball

  • Shin guards

  • Water bottle

  • Skills Development training shirt (provided by PVSC before or at the first practice)

Weather Policy

Skills Development practices will be held in light rain unless the fields are officially closed. If training is canceled due to weather, PVSC will notify families.

Registration & Cost

  • Program Cost: $125

  • Players must be registered in the PVSC Recreational Program to participate

  • Space is limited and registration is available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so we encourage families to register early.
