Program Overview

Our Recreational Program provides a fun, supportive soccer experience for boys and girls ages 4 - 19. No tryouts are required, and players are placed on balanced teams led by parent volunteer coaches. Click here to find your player's age group.

Curriculum

  • Progressive curriculum that builds on skills throughout each season

  • Focus on developing technical skills, confidence, and a love for the game

  • Introduces game rules and strategy as players advance through age groups

Volunteer Coaches

Our recreational program relies on dedicated parent volunteers to make each season possible.​​​​

Requirements

  • Every team must have at least one volunteer coach.

  • Complete a Level 2 background check with fingerprinting (valid for five years).

  • Complete and maintain current Heads Up Concussion Training and SafeSport certification through annual renewals.

  • Co-coaches are encouraged to help ensure coverage at all practices and games.

Skills Development Training

Designed for U7 - U8 players who want additional opportunities to improve their game.

  • One additional practice each week

  • Extra technical training and skill development

  • Opportunities to play additional games against local Junior Academy programs

  • Great for players looking to take the next step in their soccer development

Additional Team Practices

U9 & Older

Some U9 and older teams may hold additional practice each week at the coach's discretion, providing players with extra opportunities to develop their skills and prepare for games.

Player Development Academy

Designed for U9 - U12 players who are ready to take their game to the next level.

  • Additional training opportunities beyond the recreational season

  • Focused technical skill development

  • Ideal for motivated players seeking more time on the ball

Technical Training

Designed for U9 - U12 players who are committed to improving their technical skills in a more focused training environment.

  • In partnership with Good Lad Soccer

  • 8-week program (late September - November)

  • Focus on footwork, ball mastery, and technical development

  • ​Fast-paced sessions for players ready to advance their game

Additional Training

Parent Reminders

Our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and positive environment for every player. Please review the reminders below to help make the season a success.

Parent Supervision

  • A parent or designated adult must remain responsible for your child during practices and games.

  • Coaches and trainers cannot leave practice to escort players to the restroom or provide supervision outside of soccer activities.

  • If your child needs assistance during practice, please be available.

Arrive Prepared

Please make sure your player comes ready for every practice and game.

  • Bring a full water bottle.

  • Arrive on time. If you will be more than 20 minutes late, it may be best to attend the next practice.

  • Encourage your child to get plenty of rest before practices and games.

Required Equipment

For player safety, all players must wear:

  • Soccer cleats

  • Shin guards (UNDER SOCKS)

  • Soccer shorts

  • Assigned jersey (if applicable)

 

Please remove all earrings before participating. Skirts, jean shorts, and basketball shorts are not permitted.

Health & Safety

🚫 NO PETS PERMITTED

Per St. Johns County Parks & Recreation regulations, pets are not allowed at practices or games

  • Please keep your child home if they are sick.

  • Help keep players away from the sawgrass surrounding fields due to local wildlife.

  • Minor bumps and falls happen during play, so please remain available if your child needs you.

Communication

Most Importantly...

  • Please treat all referees with kindness and respect. They are a vital part of our program, and your support helps us retain officials for future seasons.

  • Support your child with a positive attitude.

  • Cheer them on and enjoy watching them grow throughout the season!
